Fuel tanks
Lavochkin Association, JSC currently develops and manufactures a number of propellant tanks for SC propulsion systems
-
Technical characteristics of propellant tanks
- propellant tank cavity can be manufactured with a volume from 40 to 191±2 liters;
- amidol or nitrogen tetraoxide and asymmetric dimethylhydrazine are used as fuel cells;
- operating pressure in the fuel cavity at the beginning of operation can be in the range from 6 to 36.3 kgf/cm 2 , depending on the volume of the fuel cavity and fuel cells;
- aluminum and titanium alloys are used for tank body manufacturing;
- overall dimensions can be in the range from 456х456х534 to 830х830х780 mm;
- mass of manufactured tanks is from 7,2 to 21,4 kg;
- estimated time of delivery after contract conclusion is 6 months;
- active lifetime cycle is from 1 year to 10 years;
- mechanical loads level corresponds to the loads during SC injection by small-lift and medium-lift LV;
- inner diameter of fuel tanks is in the range from Ø440 to Ø720;
- fixing method of fuel tanks is with the use of brackets, which are part of the tank and flange fixation.
