Description
Creation of satellite systems operating in highly elliptical orbits is necessary for information support in solving tasks regarding operational meteorology, hydrology, agrometeorology, climate and environmental monitoring in the Arctic region. Being a part of the high-elliptical hydrometeorological space system, two Arktika-M spacecraft will provide for the around-the-clock all-weather monitoring of the Earth’s surface and seas of the Arctic Ocean, as well as ensure permanent and reliable communication, which will contribute to the dynamic social and economic development in northern regions of our country.
